Idol Season

Correspondents Andy Scott and Gaby Dunn went backstage at the ‘Idol’ season 9 tour in Newark last week and interviewed each of the touring Idols.

We’ll be posting our video interviews two at a time all this week in order of the contestants elimination from the show.

First up is Didi Benami, who talked about meeting Colbie Caillat, possibly collaborating with Jason Mraz, what really happens on the girls’ tour bus and then, well, the interview kind of veered into goofy girl talk territory.

UPDATE: Didi made some quick annotation for this interview on her Official Twitter, since there were Two Jason’s mentioned: JASON REEVES and JASON MRAZ. Here’s what Didi said on her Twitter: “@somethingpitchy LOVED MEETING YOU and the interview was so fun! quick clarification… we spoke about 2 different Jasons 🙂 both of which I would love to work with… Jason Reeves and Jason Mraz- but since we bounced back n forth it coulda been confusing, both have worked with Colbie… Jason Reeves, Kara Dioguradi and Colbie wrote “I Never Told You”

Then, it was Andrew Scott vs. Andrew Garcia, who attempted a little game of Paula Abdul trivia. (Keyword there is “attempt.”) Garcia became well-known on the show for his take on the former ‘Idol’ judge’s hit single, ‘Straight Up,’ but that definitely doesn’t mean he’s an Abdul-a-holic. Garcia also talked about the boys’ bizarre bus antics. (Late Night Pecs, anyone?)
