Updated: Idol Tracker: American Idol Season 9 Top 10 interview each other (VIDEO)

Sure, they do hundreds of interviews during the season, but hand an Idol the microphone and some find that asking the questions isn’t all that easy.

During a break from rehearsals for the upcoming “American Idol” summer tour (kicking off July 1 in Detroit and hitting L.A.’s Staples Center on Aug. 13) and after running through their group number, a cover of Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life Would Suck Without You,” more than a dozen times, eight of the Top 10 Idols paired up to grill each other — some completely unscripted, others with the help of index cards — and all offered plenty of laughs (Crystal Bowersox and Casey James were sick; their interview will come soon). Just added Crystal and Casey’s interview at the bottom.

Check out the clips below, starting with Siobhan Magnus’ sweet sit-down with “American Idol” winner Lee DeWyze:

Michael Lynche and Tim Urban talk motorcycles, joke about parades and start rumors involving Aaron Kelly performing on the “Idol” tour shirtless.

Didi Benami and Andrew Garcia talk about plans for the summer tour and beyond. Plus, Katie Stevens and Tim Urban make cameos!

Katie plays probing reporter and gets to the bottom of rumors about a shirtless, python-clad Aaron Kelly, and finally admits she has a Twitter addiction.

Crystal Bowersox and Casey James recall their first jam together (at a Starbucks, of all places), memories of time spent in L.A., and look ahead to future vacations and dream venues…

More videos on the scene with the Top 10 at the Idol 9 rehearsals

The American Idol Season 9 Top 10 finalists met with the press on Thursday from their tour rehearsals. LA Music Examiner was on the scene and watched the Top 10 perform a group number.

Here they attempt Kelly Clarkson’s “My Life would suck without you.” We hope Aaron Kelly (who’s just learning to play) will leave the guitar playing to the pros like Casey James and Lee DeWyze. People are paying for the concert and we seriously hope they won’t suck!!

See other versions of this video here with photos from the rehearsals.

6/17 American Idols 9 ‘meet the press’ day; videos/photos at the Summer live tour rehearsals

The American Idol 9 bunch are meeting the press today, letting them in into the rehearsals for the slow selling upcoming tour that kicks off July 1st.

Here are some of the photos. We’re going to get more for sure as soon as different reps from the media posts them. Check back for more later.

@thekatiestevens says:

We got hair and makeup for press day! I feel special! Love my hair!!

@crystalbowersox tweets: (on the way to rehearsals)

Were all in a creepy black van on our way to rehearsal.. if you could hear the conversations we have when were all together. Cracks me up.

We hope it’s just us, but why do we have a feeling (except for Didi’s 2 performances!) this concert is gonna suck?!!! We’re not liking this group song at all!! You’re supposed to show off guys on why we should watch the show NOT change our minds and run the other way…

6/14 The Michael Lynche, Katie Stevens, Tim Urban Live Ustream chat (VIDEO)

Direct from Los Angeles, in the hopes to draw in more people to watch the Live tour, American Idol and Ustream join forces to bring live chats with the idols.

This recorded chat features Michael Lynche, Tim Urban and Katie Stevens who chatted with fans Monday, June 14th.

No one would squeal their song choices but we know Didi is performing “Terrified” and Andrew “Straight Up.” A duet between Casey James and Michael Lynche “Have you ever loved a Woman” will most likely be part of the repertoire.

Please allow time for the video to load…

American Idol Live Tour 2010 still desperate for audience, Get tickets for $20!!

All right this extended discount ticket selling sounds to us like a real plea of distress! How many times can the promoters offer $20 tickets to the American Idol Live Tour 2010 concert?

Despite the low priced ticket, despite seeing 10 people in one concert- it appears they still can’t convince people to shell out cash while single artists such as Daughtry and Adam Lambert’s tour are selling like hot pancakes at $50 a piece (lowest price)!

Not even the poor ticket turnout of Season 3 and Season 6 tours did they give away tickets for $20.00!! If that’s not desperation, we don’t know what is.

What we know is we got suckered in to watch this show just to see Didi Benami perform “Terrified” live and one other song! If what we heard on TV is an indication of how these idols will perform, we will bring earplugs to protect ourselves from some most of the idols who will likely suck live- just in case…

They are coming to Boston, Ma and will perform at the Comcast Center in Mansfield on July 18th. Will they fill the 19,900 capacity venue? We’ll see!

If you think were making this ‘desperate for audience’ up, read below.

UPDATE: From Pop Eater, published June 16th

Idol’ Tour Moving to Smaller Venues

You know there is trouble in ‘Idol’-land when host Ryan Seacrest is having to resort to Twitter to try selling unwanted tickets to the upcoming Idol tour.

Ryan tweeted, “If u were thinking about getting tix to the @americanidol live tour, do it now – ALL TIX are $20 for the next 24 hrs!” Yikes. Sources tell me ticket sales are so poor in certain locations that there is talk about moving the concerts from huge arenas to smaller theaters that hold less than 2,000 people.

Thank goodness Ryan has more than 3,201,054 Twitter followers, because if he can’t sell the tickets, I’m pretty sure this season’s winners can’t.

Go get those $20.00 tickets at Live Nation. (After taxes, prepare to pay around $28-30!) Available for sale until June 17th. (They would probably extend this…)
