Idol Gives Back, the historic Emmy Award-winning television event and music celebration has raised more than $140 million to benefit charities around the world and across the United States. The two-hour fundraising event will return to FOX on Wednesday, April 21 at 8/7c.
This year’s special will feature performances and appearances by some of Hollywood’s biggest stars as well as huge names in the music industry including Sir Elton John,
Lady Gaga (may perform in May), Alicia Keys, Carrie Underwood, The Black Eyed Peas, Annie Lennox and Jeff Beck with other guests to be announced.
There is 99.99% chance that Didi Benami, Paige Miles, Katie Stevens, Andrew Garcia and Lacey Brown will be there! Most of them have twittered about ‘being together’ or ‘meeting everyone’ over the weekend though no one is saying if it’s for Idol Gives Back. It has to be! We miss Didi on our TV so much!! We hope she gets some air time and the cameraman will focus on her more when they perform or something!! 🙂
Beneficiaries for this year’s event include Children’s Health Fund, Feeding America, Malaria No More, Save the Children’s U.S. Programs and the United Nations Foundation. Net proceeds from ticket sales will benefit the Idol Gives Back Foundation. The Idol Gives Back Foundation is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization established by the producers of American Idol and FOX.
In previous years, Idol Gives Back has welcomed President Barack Obama, British Prime Minister Gordon Brown, former President George W. Bush, Brad Pitt, Bono, Reese Witherspoon, Miley Cyrus, Eli Manning, Peyton Manning, Annie Lennox, Daughtry, Carrie Underwood, Mariah Carey, Gwen Stefani, Josh Groban, Pink, Celine Dion, Robin Williams, Ben Stiller and others.
Tickets for the performances at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium range from $50 to $250.00 per person.
