7/7 American Idols Live in Wantagh, NY at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater (PHOTOS)

The Season 9 American Idol Top 10 make their 5th stop in New York City in the on-going nationwide Live tour! They perform tonight at the Nikon at Jones Beach Theater in Wantagh, NY.

General Admission capacity of this theater is 5,000. That should be easy to fill up, right? Wrong! At press time, Wednesday’s show at Jones Beach, right outside New York, featured front-row seats still available for just $13. Ouch! That’s pretty bad.

Watch out for this space for photos later. Hang in there!

THE VIDEOS ARE IN THIS SECTION, Click here.

The concert must have started promptly. There are plenty of empty seats when Didi came out!! Unlike Andrew’s video showing like they filled up the venue.

Thank you NYRambler and pandorablu for the nice photos shared on Twitter!!

  • How negative can you be: From reviews given by people attending the concert, attendance was good and only the upper deck not filled. At what time did you take your photos? I don’t appreciate negativeness for this Idol season as I throughly enjoyed every moment of it and I thought many of the contestants have a degree of talent and now on the tour, they are showing even more of that talent. My favorite is Lee who has shown on this tour why he deserved to win, his talent is awsome and this is shown on the videos coming out of the tour. Mark my word, (from a senior citizen who has seen a lot), Lee DeWyze will be a great star!

    • Sorry that you feel negativity in this post but in our humble opinion, there is nothing negative about our statement:

“The concert must have started promptly. There are plenty of empty seats when Didi came out!! Unlike Andrew’s video showing like they filled up the venue.”

-meaning it started early so probably many people came in late, because from Andrew’s video as we have said, it shows like they filled up the venue.

The photograph speaks for itself. There are unfortunately PLENTY OF EMPTY SEATS when Didi started her set. Didi won’t come out if the show hasn’t started. Obviously when Didi came out, there aren’t many people yet…

Perhaps you have missed the news, Live Nation cancelled some dates for this Idol tour because of POOR ticket sales. We can’t hide that fact. So should we blame this on the economy or lack of talent? your call.

We have never attended an American Idol concert before. We are huge fans of Didi Benami and she’s the only reason we are watching the show when they come to our city.

Thank you for taking the time to write us. Peace to you.
